Zoë Welsh was born in Wilkinsburg, PA and received her BFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. She is a practicing artist and clinical art therapist based out of Pittsburgh, PA. She is represented by Concept Art Gallery.
Zoë creates mixed media paintings oriented in the tradition of landscape iconography. Her most recent body of work focuses on somatic and emotional narrative mirrored and inspired by observation of the natural world. She transforms perceived space and complex emotional states into felt landscape, allowing the formal elements to take on symbolic form beneath screens of vibrant transparent color.
